But what can you do there? Well, there's a fair bit to do, lots of family things and stuff for those that aren't bothered about clubs etc. There are many bars and restaurants - English, Irish, Spanish, Italian, Steak, Indian, Italian, Chinese, Cake Shops and lots of others that I'll remember the second I publish this page.
There's also a load of water based stuff (not the drink) - jet-skiing, boat trips, whale watching, snorkeling, a diving school, boat hire, pedalo hire, fishing trips, submarine trips, surf school, speed boat trips. Plus the beach is 100% child friendy, and there are not annoying shelves for you to plummet into once you are 4 feet from the shore. So it mum and dad friendly as well. Plus not to far away, we have a kitesurfing school.
For those that enjoy the land - we have trike tours, beauty salons, motorbike and quad bike hire, cycle hire, car hire, massage therapy, supermarkets, a creche, organized trips on motorbike and cycle, disabled scooter hire, internet cafes and wifi throughout the town. Or you can simply sit on the beach whilst pointing and laughing at your family and friends doing all this active stuff in the water. The choice is yours.
Most of the hotels have pools, as do most of the complexes you'll be staying in, these are prety good, but be warned that lifeguards are not mandatory here, so keep an eye out. Plus many of the hotels/bars that have pools are happy for you to use them even if you are not a guest, just buy the odd drinki now and then.
The town is mostly flat apart from Chipmunk Mountain (the clue is in the name), and its not really a mountain, and nothing that a decent ten minute walk, or a short cab ride would not sort out, as there is a bit to do up there as well.
They say it never rains in Fuerteventura, they also say its 365 days of sunshine; I don't quite hold with that nonsense, I have been here for five years and I can remember it raining on one occasion, a Thursday I think. Caleta de Fuste has much to offer you as a tourist. The Canary Islands, Fuerteventura, and in particular Caleta de Fuste, should be a destination for everyone at some point, make it yours this year.
Fuerteventura's Caleta de Fuste, in the Canary Islands, is located close to the airport and is a fairly new town and holiday destination. Caleta de Fuste boasts many facilities to keep you and the kids occupied and most of these are featured within these pages.
Caleta has been around for about 10-15 years, before that it was a coastal, er...coast. Not much happening at all, but now it is a thriving community with child-safe beaches, and their various water and sand based activities, as well as bars, restaurants, tours, cruises, coastal walks plus much much more.
